The one-person IT department
A single IT manager who handles everything, rarely gets a real vacation and has nobody to cover nights and weekends.
Your IT staff know your business better than any outside provider. Co-managed IT from Chrysalis Tech Group gives them backup: help desk overflow, 24/7 and vacation cover, security monitoring and extra hands for projects, with responsibilities split the way you choose.
Co-managed IT is an arrangement where your in-house IT staff keep ownership of your systems and an outside provider covers the work they cannot get to. With Chrysalis, that can mean help desk overflow, 24/7 and after-hours support, vacation cover, security monitoring, project work and planning. Who does what is written into the plan, and like all Chrysalis managed IT, it is quoted on the agreed scope.
Companies with internal IT that need more capacity, more coverage or skills the team does not have.
A single IT manager who handles everything, rarely gets a real vacation and has nobody to cover nights and weekends.
IT teams whose ticket queue grows faster than the budget for new hires.
Companies with a cloud migration, an office move, a Windows 11 rollout or a compliance push that would swamp the day-to-day work.
Owners and executives who want strategic planning or security oversight alongside the team they already trust.
The usual problem is time and coverage, and a small team can only stretch so far.
Password resets and printer problems fill the day, so patching, documentation and security reviews keep slipping.
Problems at night, on weekends or during vacations land on one person’s phone, or wait until Monday.
Watching for threats takes people and tools that a small internal team cannot staff alone, and alerts nobody reads at night protect very little.
Pick the pieces you need. Your team keeps the rest.
Chrysalis takes first-line tickets, or just the overflow, so your team can work on projects and the problems only they can solve.
24/7 support for your users, with escalation rules agreed with your team, so nobody has to be on call every night.
Monitoring of computers, servers and network devices, with alerts handled and escalated as agreed, plus patch and vulnerability reporting your team can act on.
Extra hands and experience for cloud migrations, Windows 11 rollouts, network and Wi-Fi upgrades, structured cabling, phone systems and audio visual installs.
Virtual chief information officer (vCIO) planning, budgets and roadmaps, plus readiness work for requirements such as Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Safeguards Rule.
If nobody in your company looks after IT today, fully managed IT is usually the better fit. Chrysalis becomes your IT department for a flat monthly fee.

The first weeks are about agreeing the split and getting the access right.
We meet your IT team, learn your systems and tools, and find where help would make the biggest difference.
Together we write down who owns what: which tickets come to Chrysalis, how escalations work, who holds admin access and who approves changes.
We get the access we need, set up monitoring and document your environment with your team.
We meet with your team and leadership on a set schedule to review tickets, security and projects, and adjust the split as your needs change.
Common questions about co-managed IT.
With fully managed IT, Chrysalis is your IT department and handles everything in the agreed scope. With co-managed IT, your in-house team stays in charge and Chrysalis covers specific areas, such as overflow tickets, after-hours support, security monitoring or projects. Both are written into a plan, so everyone knows who owns what.
No. It adds capacity around your team. Your staff keep their roles, their knowledge of the business and their say in decisions, and Chrysalis works to the rules they help set.
You decide. During onboarding we agree access levels, change approvals and escalation paths with your team and write them into the plan.
Not necessarily. We agree on ticketing, monitoring and documentation tools during onboarding, and use what your team already runs where that makes sense.
Chrysalis managed IT plans start at $125 per user per month for Chrysalis Essential, $175 per user per month for Chrysalis Secure and $225 per user per month for Chrysalis Complete. A co-managed plan is quoted on the scope you agree, because your team keeps part of the work, and your proposal lists what it covers. Our pricing page explains what drives a quote.
Yes. You can start with one area, such as after-hours cover or help desk overflow, and add more as your team sees how it works.
