What IT services for retail and e-commerce cover

Chrysalis Tech Group provides IT services for retail and e-commerce businesses in the Houston area: point-of-sale networks with cellular failover, payment security built around the PCI Data Security Standard, monitored links between your online store and your inventory, and a 24/7 help desk for the locations included in the agreed plan. Online and in-store systems are managed together, and pricing is a flat monthly fee quoted on the agreed scope.

Who we support

Sellers whose revenue stops the moment a register or a checkout page does.

Independent and multi-location retailers

Every store needs working registers, card readers and Wi-Fi, set up the same way and supported from one place.

E-commerce and omnichannel brands

Your online store, inventory system and physical locations have to agree on what is in stock, or customers order items you cannot ship.

Franchise owners

Each location has to meet the brand’s technology standards and the same card security checks, usually with no IT staff on site.

Owners and operations managers

You want card payments protected, PCI questions answered and someone watching the network on a busy Saturday afternoon.

Retail and e-commerce bottlenecks we tackle

Protecting your transaction flow and brand reputation from costly technical disruptions.

Register and payment outages

Internet drops or payment gateway crashes during peak hours lead directly to lost transactions, long lines and abandoned sales.

Card data compliance risks

Complex cardholder data security requirements under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) can expose retail businesses to card-brand assessments, breach costs and lost customer trust.

Multi-store and e-commerce friction

Inconsistent inventory sync between e-commerce platforms and physical store locations causes stockouts and customer frustration.

High-performance tech built for modern commerce

Connecting your brick-and-mortar storefronts with fast, secure cloud infrastructure.

Failover connectivity for point of sale

Dual wide area network (WAN) routers with automated 4G and 5G cellular failover, designed to give checkout registers a backup path for card transactions when the main internet line goes down.

Cybersecurity and PCI compliance management

Managed firewalls, isolated guest Wi-Fi networks, end-to-end encryption and routine security audits that strengthen the protection of cardholder data.

In-store audio visual and digital signage

Professional audio visual installations, background audio systems and central digital display management to elevate customer shopping experiences.

E-commerce and inventory integration support

The links between your online store, register system and inventory or accounting software are monitored and secured, and we work with the platform vendors when a sync breaks.

Help desk for store managers

Store managers and staff get one number for register, printer, Wi-Fi and account problems, including the evenings and weekends when stores are at their busiest.

What changes in your stores

  • Registers have a cellular backup path for card payments when the main internet line drops.
  • Guest Wi-Fi, registers and back-office computers sit on separate networks.
  • Every location included in the agreed plan runs the same secured setup, managed and supported from one place.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about retail IT, POS uptime and card security.

What happens to our payment registers if our main internet connection fails?

Our business continuity solutions include automated cellular failover. If your primary fiber or cable internet drops, your POS network can switch to Long-Term Evolution (LTE) or 5G cellular backup automatically, which gives card payments a backup path while the main line is down.

How do you keep our guest Wi-Fi away from credit card transactions?

We build strict network segmentation with virtual local area networks (VLANs). Your store’s guest Wi-Fi runs on its own network, separated from your point-of-sale registers and internal business computers, which reduces the risk of anyone on the guest network reaching payment systems.

Does a PCI-compliant payment processor make my store compliant?

Not on its own. The processor covers its part, but your network, card readers, Wi-Fi and staff access are still in scope, and your business completes its own yearly assessment. Chrysalis manages the network side, including segmentation, firewalls and monitoring, and documents it for that assessment.

Can you manage IT infrastructure across multiple store locations?

Yes. We manage the storefront locations in your plan from unified cloud dashboards, so your management team gets a clear view of every register and branch, with the same security settings applied at each one.

Can you set up IT for a new store location?

Yes. We plan the network, register connections, guest Wi-Fi and cellular failover alongside your build-out and work to your opening date, so the new store runs the same secured setup as the others.

How are IT services for retail priced?

As a flat monthly fee. Plans start at $125 per user per month with Chrysalis Essential, and the final figure depends on the agreed scope: the number of stores, registers and devices, your e-commerce platform and your PCI obligations. Your proposal lists what the plan covers.
