What managed IT services for small businesses include

Managed IT services for small businesses give you an outsourced IT department for a flat monthly fee, so you do not need to hire IT staff. Chrysalis provides 24/7 help desk support, monitoring, cybersecurity, backups, Microsoft 365 management and technology planning, with onsite and remote support as agreed in your plan. We have offices in The Woodlands and Humble, have been in business since 2009, and support businesses across the Houston area.

Is managed IT right for your business?

It tends to fit small businesses in one of these situations.

No IT person on staff

The owner, the office manager or the most tech-savvy employee handles IT between their real work, and problems wait until someone has time.

Tired of paying by the hour

You call someone when things break, pay by the hour and never quite know what the next bill will be.

Customers or insurers asking about security

Someone wants to know about multi-factor authentication (MFA), backups and security training, and you need a straight answer.

A move or upgrade coming up

An office move, a Windows 11 refresh, a switch to Microsoft 365 or a new phone system is on the calendar, and you want it planned properly.

What small businesses struggle with

Small businesses face the same threats as large ones, with far fewer people to deal with them.

IT eats the owner’s time

Every password reset, printer jam and slow laptop pulls someone away from customers. Meanwhile the jobs that matter most, such as updates and backups, quietly get skipped.

Security gaps you cannot see

Phishing emails, reused passwords and missing updates are common ways attackers get in. Without monitoring, nobody notices until something has already gone wrong.

Unpredictable costs

Hourly IT bills spike when things go wrong, which is usually when cash is tight. Old equipment stays in service because nobody planned its replacement.

What your plan can include

Your plan is scoped to your business. These are the core pieces it can cover.

24/7 help desk

One place for your team to get help, any time, for common issues from a locked account to a laptop that will not start. Our onsite and remote team handles support under the scope in your plan.

Monitoring and maintenance

We monitor your computers, servers and network, keep them updated, and call you when something goes offline.

Cybersecurity

MFA, email filtering, endpoint protection and security awareness training, set up and kept current. A complimentary risk assessment shows where to start.

Backups and recovery

Backups of your files, email and servers, plus a plan for getting back to work after a hardware failure, a storm or a ransomware attack.

Planning and vendor help

Technology planning with a virtual chief information officer (vCIO), a budget for replacing aging equipment, and help dealing with your internet provider and software vendors.

Start with a risk assessment

Chrysalis offers complimentary risk assessments. You get a high-level view of where your business is exposed and what to fix first, before you commit to anything.

Frequently asked questions

Questions small business owners ask about managed IT.

How much do managed IT services cost for a small business?

Plans start at $125 per user per month for Chrysalis Essential, $175 per user per month for Chrysalis Secure and $225 per user per month for Chrysalis Complete. Your monthly fee depends on your number of users and the scope you agree, and your proposal lists what your plan covers. Our pricing page explains how a quote is built.

Do we need an IT person on staff?

No. Managed IT is designed for businesses without one. If you already have an IT person, co-managed IT lets Chrysalis back them up instead of replacing them.

Is Chrysalis a local managed IT provider?

Yes. Chrysalis Tech Group has offices in The Woodlands and Humble and supports businesses across Houston and beyond. Most everyday support is delivered remotely, and onsite visits are scheduled as agreed in your plan.

What happens when something breaks after hours?

Support is available 24/7. Your team calls client support or uses the client portal, and the problem is handled under the terms of your plan, including when someone comes onsite.

Will we have to replace all our equipment?

No. We start by documenting what you have and keep what still works. Where a computer, server or firewall is past its useful life or has become a security risk, we tell you plainly and help you plan and budget the replacement.

Can you take over from our current IT provider?

Yes. We plan the handover with you: collecting passwords, licenses and documentation, setting up monitoring and security, and checking each system as it moves over. Our process page shows how onboarding works.
