How we work

How we work
with your business.

Every client relationship follows the same four steps. They keep the work tied to your priorities and give you a clear view of what comes next.

The short version.

Chrysalis starts by listening to how your business runs, then looks at your systems for risks and gaps and agrees a plan with you. The agreed improvements go in during onboarding. After that, your team gets 24/7 IT support by phone and through the client portal, from an onsite and remote team, and the plan is reviewed with you as the business changes.

Four steps, from the first conversation.

The same order for every client, scaled to the size of your business and the state of your systems.

  1. 1

    Listen first

Talk through your business, current systems and what needs to change.

The first conversation is about the business, not the tools. We ask how your team works, which systems they rely on, what keeps going wrong and what you are planning next. If you are moving from another provider or an in-house IT person, we also ask what works today and should stay.

    • How the business runs day to day
    • The systems people cannot work without
    • What has to keep running while things change
  2. 2

    Find the gaps

Assess risks and build a practical plan around your priorities.

Next comes a look at your environment: devices, network, accounts, backups and security settings. This can start with a complimentary risk assessment, which picks out weak spots such as aging software and risky user habits. What we find becomes a plan in plain English, ordered by what matters most to the business.

    • Risks and weak spots, explained plainly
    • Priorities agreed with you, not assumed
    • A scope and a flat monthly fee for managed IT
  3. 3

    Make it work

Put the agreed technology and security improvements in place.

With the plan agreed, onboarding starts. Chrysalis documents what you have, sets out who owns what, brings your systems up to an agreed security baseline and takes over support from whoever had it before. Timing is agreed with you, so changes that could interrupt people are planned around the business.

    • Inventory and documentation
    • An agreed security baseline
    • A clear handover from your previous provider
  4. 4

    Keep improving

Stay supported as your people, systems and business evolve.

Once onboarding is done, the work shifts to day-to-day support and steady improvement. Reviews look at what has changed, what came up in support and what to plan next, so your technology keeps pace with the business instead of falling behind it.

    • 24/7 IT support for your team
    • Reviews of what changed and what comes next
    • A plan that changes when the business does

What onboarding covers.

Onboarding is where the plan turns into work. The order and timing are agreed with you; this is the ground it covers.

See a sample onboarding plan

Discovery

Conversations with you and key staff about how work gets done and what matters most.

Inventory and documentation

A record of devices, software, accounts and network equipment, so nothing depends on one person’s memory.

Ownership and escalation

Who owns each system, who approves changes and who to call when something goes wrong.

Security baseline

Checks on accounts, updates, backups and protection, with fixes agreed in priority order.

Transition

Access, tools and support moved over from your previous provider or in-house setup, and staff told how to get help.

First review

A look back at what onboarding found and fixed, and agreement on what comes next.

How support works day to day.

Once you are a client, there are two ways to reach the team, and a plan that says when someone comes on site.

Call any time

24/7 IT support on 713.575.2626. Phone is the right route for anything urgent.

Use the client portal

Send a request through the client portal. It suits routine requests that are not holding anyone up.

Onsite and remote

Chrysalis has an onsite and remote team. Remote help reaches people wherever they work, and onsite visits are arranged as agreed in your plan.

Reviews and planning.

Technology plans go stale when the business moves on. Reviews keep yours current.

Chrysalis reviews your environment with you, talks through what support requests are showing and recommends what to change next, from security improvements to upgrades worth budgeting for. How often you meet is agreed in the plan.

For bigger decisions, such as a move, a new location or a major system change, the conversation starts before the work does.

Questions about working with us.

Ask us something else
How long does onboarding take?

It depends on the size and state of your environment. The steps and timing are agreed with you before onboarding starts, rather than set by a standard number of days.

Do we have to change everything at once?

No. The plan sets the order, starting with what matters most to the business, and changes are timed around your work.

How do we get help once we are a client?

Call 713.575.2626 for 24/7 IT support, or send a request through the client portal. Urgent issues are best handled by phone.

Will someone come to our office?

Chrysalis has an onsite and remote team. Onsite visits are part of what you agree in your plan, so you know what to expect before you need it.

Can you work alongside our in-house IT staff?

Yes. Co-managed IT splits the work between your team and Chrysalis, with the split agreed in the plan.
